Dear Blackburn Speech Community,
We hope this message finds you and your family in great spirits. We're thrilled to share some significant updates and additions to our clinic that we believe will greatly enhance your experience and support with us.
1) Introducing Blackburn Speech, Rehab, and Swallow Care: We're proud to announce the launch of our new service, Blackburn Speech, Rehab, and Swallow Care. This service is specifically designed for adults and includes comprehensive swallowing assessments and management. These assessments are carried out by our experienced speech pathologists, ensuring safe eating and drinking recommendations tailored to each individual. This service caters to clients with Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans and those managed through My Aged Care homecare packages, both agency and self-managed. For more details, please visit this link.
2) Expanded Occupational Therapy Services: We are excited to announce new capacities in our Occupational Therapy services, thanks to the addition of Kasey, a new therapist with a background in social work, and Joyce, who is increasing her working days. Additionally, we have an experienced OT with a play therapy background. Together, they can assist your child with emotional regulation, social skills, play skills, and the development of fine and gross motor skills. Please enquire now before the slots are filled!
3) Join Our Bush Playgroup This School Holiday: Are you looking for a way for your child to reconnect with nature? We're excited to introduce our bush playgroup, facilitated by Kalei, a qualified bush kinder teacher. This special group will be running on October 4, 2024, from 9:30-11:30 AM. It's a fantastic opportunity for your child to enjoy the outdoors and learn in a natural setting. The cost is $50 per family. Please register using this link to secure your spot.
4) Prep Play Learn School Readiness Program in Term 4: Due to high demand, we are excited to run the "Prep Play Learn" school readiness program again in Term 4. This program is designed for pre-prep and prep students to learn about systematic synthetic phonics with a speech pathologist, while parents learn about emotional regulation strategies to support their children. It involves parents so you can see how your child learns in a classroom-like environment. Students from the last batch of the program are already reading decodable readers, which is amazing. 5) Welcome Avita, Our New Admin: We are delighted to welcome Avita as our new admin. She will be answering phone calls and assisting at the clinic on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, starting in September. Please give her a warm welcome!
These new services and additions are part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to our community. We look forward to continuing to serve you with the highest standards of care.
Thank you for being a valued part of our clinic family. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us at 03 4156 8888 or info@blackburnslp.com.
